Calm

Since I started my detox month everything in my life has calmed down a little. Work, social life, everything. It’s as thought the universe has decided to give me a little breather.

I haven’t really achieved anything with all this extra time on my hands, but maybe that’s the point. I badly needed to relax, and for the moment the lack of anything urgent gives me that opportunity. With my free time I’ve been playing some GTA4, (HAWSOME!), and reading a lot.

The current reading list is Matter by Iain M Banks, (over there on the right), and also as many movie or TV show scripts as I can get my hands on. For some reason over the last month I’ve become addicted to reading them and find myself hunting through Amazon or the local bookstores for new ones. Then I discovered Daily Script, and Drew’s Script-o-rama.

Finding those sites made me a very happy man.

I picked up the two West Wing Script books recently and I’ve been working my way through them, trying to visualise the performance of the actors while I read. I’m a big, big fan of Aaron Sorkin, and it’s fantastic having some of his scripts, in the handy format of a those books.

I know this period of calm is coming close to it’s end. Work is on the verge of becoming ridiculously busy. In just over a month I go on holiday with some friends, and a few projects I’ve been putting off are coming to a point where I’m going to have to get them done.

It’s my hope that I can slowly begin introducing everything so that it all doesn’t come crashing down on my in one horrific moment. That way I can remain as relaxed as possible for as long as possible.

That’s the plan anyway.

Good to hear it’s going well. GTA4 is awesome, though I haven’t gotten round to the multiplayer yet.
