Time to Get Into Shape

It’s long past time I got myself into decent shape. Over the years I’ve gone from extremely fit and lean to overweight and unfit as hell.

Basically my diet is….well terrible, and there’s a distinct lack of exercise in my life at the moment, all of which has contributed to my weight being heavier than ever before.

A very bad situation indeed.

I had intended for my new fitness regime to be a New Years resolution, but quickly decided against that idea. January was going to be, (and has been), a very stressful month due to house moves, and working in London. So I made the decision to leave January as a month to slowly recover from X-Mas excess, and begin my training in February. A sort of buffer between lifestyles is the way I looked at it.

With February fast approaching I’ve spent the last couple of days slowly getting into the habit of eating properly, with several small meals instead of a couple of large meals, and making sure I put at least 30/45 minutes of cardio work on my exercise bike each night. I’m hoping that by slowly getting into a routine over the next week, that by February 1st I’ll be mentally prepared to begin training properly.

My aim is to lose a significant amount of weight and tone up before my trip to Vegas in April, and I thought that the best way to do that, would be to add my goals to the site. That way they’re up there in the public domain, and I’m hoping that by making them public It will push me that little bit harder to achieve them.

I’m intending on posting a weekly update on my progress, beginning on the 1st Feb and hopefully by April I’ll be lean and healthy again.

Wish me luck, I think I’m going to need it.
